Job summary

Great Waltham C of E Primary School is seeking a friendly Midday Assistant to support lunchtime routines and supervise children. You will help prepare the hall, assist with meals, supervise play and ensure safety and positive behaviour during lunch.

The role is 6.25 hours per week, term-time only (38 weeks) with pro-rata salary, and full training including basic first aid will be provided. Immediate start available and visits to the school are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Term-time only—38 weeks per year.
• Good communication and organisational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Set up the hall in preparation for lunch, including putting up tables.
• Help younger children with their food when required.
• Wipe tables, clear spillages and tidy the hall for afternoon activities.
• Supervise children in the lunch hall and playground.
• Encourage imaginative play indoors and outdoors.
• Promote and maintain good behaviour.
• Administer first aid when required.
• Clear away at the end of the session and tidy up.
