Job summary

Wyvern Academy is seeking a Lunchtime / Midday Supervisory Assistant to support pupils during lunch breaks. The role is 12.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 11:30am–2:00pm, part-time and term-time only. Starting 2 November 2026, you’ll help pupils feel safe, supported and included in a lively dining hall.

Internal promotion opportunities exist; experience with children is welcome, and a positive attitude is valued above all. Salary reflects part-time hours.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to create a safe lunchtime environment.
• Supervise pupils in the dining hall, ensuring safety, wellbeing and dignity at all times.
• Encourage good hygiene, polite table manners and healthy eating habits.
• Set up and clear the dining area, keep the hall clean, tidy and welcoming.
• Assist with clearing away equipment, trays, beakers and cutlery.
• Maintain calm and organisation during busy or challenging moments.
• Collaborate with colleagues to meet each pupil’s needs with care and creativity.
• Bring energy, positivity and joy to lunchtime.
