Job summary

Neath Port Talbot Council is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant at Rhos Primary School. The role is 30 hours per week during 39 weeks of the year, commencing ASAP subject to checks. The post is temporary until 31 August 2027 and requires NVQ Level 2 in Early Years childcare or equivalent.

The successful candidate will support pupils with play-based learning, observe and record progress, and contribute to a team focused on safeguarding and pupil welfare.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Early Years Childcare and Education or equivalent.
• Availability to work 30 hours per week for 39 weeks per year (term time).
• Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in primary school settings.
• Assist with play-based learning activities and grouped tasks.
• Observe, analyse and respond to children's learning and record outcomes.
