Job summary

South Thames Colleges Group is seeking Learning Coaches to support learners with social, emotional and mental health needs, disabilities, learning difficulties or medical conditions, and to assist ESOL, English and Maths support needs. The role offers 28 hours per week for 38 weeks per year during term time only, with potential to develop a career in education for recent graduates.

Experience is not essential, but initiative, organisation, prioritisation, and strong administration and computer

Qualifications

• Ability to use initiative, organise and prioritise
• Good administration and computer skills
• Strong communication skills across all levels

Responsibilities

• Support and mentor learners with social, emotional and mental health needs, a disability, learning difficulty or medical condition
• Assist ESOL, English and Maths support needs to help learners complete qualifications
• Maintain high quality written records of learner progress and set smart targets based on EHCP outcomes and coursework
• Contribute to the education, health and care plan (EHCP) outcomes as appropriate
• Work with recent graduates or those starting a career in education to become teachers
