The Sheffield College in Sheffield is seeking a Learner Support Assistant to assist students who experience barriers to learning, working with small groups or individuals inside or outside the classroom. This term-time role is 37 hours per week across 38 weeks, with a pro-rata salary based on the stated range.

You will support the class teacher and Tutorial Mentors to ensure students are engaged, stretched and achieving their goals, with safeguarding and equality as core responsibilities.

Responsabilidades

• The LSA plays a key role in monitoring student’s development and achievement.
• They are integral to safeguarding, acting as champion for equality and diversity.
• LSAs may assist with intimate personal support needs and may help in giving medication following policies and training.
• You must be keen to share knowledge and resources with colleagues to benefit teaching and learning.
• LSAs are accountable to SEND Support and plan/prioritize their own work within established routines.
• They speak with students and staff regularly to handle routine and complex queries, explaining procedures and systems.
