Job summary

Lancashire County Council’s School Meals service is seeking a Unit Catering Supervisor for St Anthony's Catholic Primary School in Preston. The role is term-time, 30 hours per week, with permanent, variable hours.

You will lead a kitchen team, oversee day-to-day catering and ensure nutritious meals are prepared and served. The post offers a supportive team environment, training and development opportunities, and a chance to progress within Lancashire School Meals while contributing to pupils'

Qualifications

• Has previous catering and food preparation experience.
• Has experience of catering for large numbers.
• Is reliable, organised and ready to take responsibility.
• Can lead, motivate and support colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the day-to-day work of the school kitchen team.
• Prepare, cook and serve healthy, nutritious school meals.
• Ensure menus and production plans are followed.
• Order supplies, monitor stock levels and store deliveries safely.
• Maintain catering records and support food safety compliance.
• Help create a positive dining experience for pupils.
• Ensure the kitchen operates safely, efficiently and to high standard.
• Support the preparation, organisation and transport of nursery meals as required.
