Lancashire County Council’s School Meals department is recruiting an Unit Catering Supervisor for St Francis of Assisi Primary School in Skelmersdale. The role is part-time, 27.5 hours per week, term time only, with a pro rata salary of £26,016–£26,847 per annum.

You will oversee a friendly kitchen team, ensure healthy meals are prepared and served, and keep production plans and records aligned with food safety standards. A rewarding post that supports local children’s health.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering and supervisory role.
• Willing to lead a kitchen team and manage busy periods.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Responsabilités

• Lead and support the day-to-day work of the school kitchen team.
• Prepare, cook and serve healthy, nutritious school meals.
• Ensure menus and production plans are followed accurately.
• Order supplies, monitor stock levels and store deliveries safely.
• Maintain catering records and support food safety compliance.
• Help create a positive dining experience for pupils.
• Ensure the kitchen operates safely, efficiently and to high standards.
