Job summary

Caterlink LTD is hiring a Chef Manager for Harrow College. The role is term-time only with no weekends, offering 37.5 hours per week across 38 weeks per year and a pay rate of £16.50 per hour.

You will oversee kitchen operations, ensure high standards of food safety and quality, manage budgets, and lead a catering team. This position requires strong leadership and a commitment to safeguarding and nutrition.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Food Safety and Level 3 Health & Safety qualifications required.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, allergen management and compliance with health, safety and hygiene legislation.
• Ability to plan balanced, high-quality menus with cost considerations.
• Experience leading and motivating a catering/kitchen team.
• Ability to manage budgets, food and labour costs, and waste reduction.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present food to Caterlink and client standards.
• Ensure site compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, and environmental regulations.
• Lead day-to-day kitchen operations and supervise teams, inventories and budgets.
• Be the main client contact at the school, driving improvements and acting on KPIs.
• Train and develop staff, monitor performance, and ensure training is completed.
