Job summary

Carmarthenshire County Council in Llanelli is seeking a Catering Assistant for a temporary, term-time role. You will support the Cook in preparing nutritious meals and ensure compliance with Food Hygiene and Health and Safety standards.

This 20-hour-per-week post (4 hours per day, Monday to Friday during term time) offers a pro-rated salary of £26,639 full-time, with a £13.81 hourly rate and opportunities for development.

Qualifications

• The ability to build good relationships with adults and children based on mutual respect.
• Knowledge of basic food safety. This would be an advantage, but not essential as full training will be given.
• Good communication and people skills
• The ability to work on their own and as part of a team.
• A positive attitude and the willingness to learn new skills.
• Flexibility and the willingness to assist with other catering duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Cook in preparing nutritious meals while following Food Hygiene and Health and Safety standards.
• Set up and clear away tables and perform general cleaning duties.
