Job summary

Carmarthenshire County Council is recruiting a Catering Assistant to support the Cook in preparing nutritious meals, maintaining food hygiene standards, and helping with setting up and clearing tables. The role is 10 hours per week, term time only (38 weeks), with an annualised pay scheme.

You should have a positive attitude, good work ethic, ability to work alone or as part of a team, basic Welsh language skills, and a DBS check will be requested.

Qualifications

• Must be able to build good relationships with adults and children
• Knowledge of basic food safety is a plus but full training provided
• Good communication and people skills required
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Assist Cook in preparing nutritious meals and ensure food hygiene and safety
• Set up and clear away tables and perform general cleaning duties
• Contribute to a clean, welcoming dining area and support catering team
