Job summary

Salford City Council is seeking an Assistant Cook to join a tight-knit catering team. The role is 25 hours per week, Mon-Fri, 8:30am–1:30pm, term-time only, with coverage for the Cook Supervisor when needed.

Applicants should have supervisory experience in a commercial kitchen, NVQ2 in Catering or City & Guilds 706/2, and a current Basic Hygiene certificate is desirable. We offer competitive rates, LGPS pension, and wellbeing benefits.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience within a commercial environment is essential.
• NVQ 2 in Catering or City and Guilds 706/2 in Catering is required.
• Current Basic Hygiene certificate is desirable.
• High standard of food presentation and excellent customer care skills.

Responsibilities

• Cover for the Cook Supervisor when absent.
• Ensure a high standard of food served and maintained.
• Work with the team to deliver quality catering service.
• Provide excellent customer care to service users.
