Job summary

Salford Council is seeking an Assistant Cook to join a tight-knit team, delivering high-quality catering and stepping in for the Cook Supervisor when needed. The role requires supervisory experience in a commercial setting and a strong focus on food presentation and customer care.

NVQ 2 in Catering or City & Guilds 706/2 in Catering is required; Basic Hygiene certificate is desirable. The post is 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 2:30pm, with a permanent, all-year-round contract.

Qualifications

• Possession of NVQ 2 in Catering or City & Guilds 706/2 in Catering is required.
• Supervisory experience in a commercial environment is essential.
• Current Basic Hygiene certificate is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a high standard of food served and quality catering service.
• Cover for the absence of the Cook Supervisor.
• Maintain excellent customer care and food presentation.
