Job summary

Hurst Park Primary Academy is seeking a Playworker to join the wraparound care team for a fixed-term contract until the end of the academic year. The role focuses on planning afternoon play for primary-aged pupils, setting up safe play areas, and assisting with snacks.

You will support children with worries or minor injuries and help foster positive relationships with families and staff. The position is part-time, 11.5 hours per week, spread across two mornings and three afternoons.

Qualifications

• Proven experience of working in a childcare or play provision.
• Patient, flexible and able to stay calm when busy.
• Strong communication and a friendly, customer-focused approach.
• Basic IT skills for simple tasks on computers or handheld devices.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organise play activities for primary-aged children.
• Set up play areas and equipment to be safe and inviting.
• Prepare and serve snacks and refreshments.
