Job summary

Ashbury CE Primary School is seeking a part-time playworker to support after-school provision. The role runs 15 hours per week during term time, with hours 07:30-08:30 and 15:00-17:00, Monday to Friday, across a school setting.

You will assist with care, play, safety, meal preparation and basic admin, deputise for the playleader when needed and help maintain a welcoming, safe, and engaging club environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing or assisting with children's activities
• Ability to communicate with parents and colleagues
• Understanding of safeguarding and health and safety
• Good organisation and time-management

Responsibilities

• Assist with care and creative play opportunities for children
• Deputise for the playleader when required
• Support children's individual needs and behaviour management
• Assist with handover/collection of children and safe handover to parents
• Ensure a safe play environment, maintain equipment, hygiene and safety procedures
• Prepare food and drink in line with healthy eating guidelines
• Assist with day-to-day administration and recordkeeping
• Work as part of the school team and promote the club
• Administer first aid and medication as appropriate
• Engage in playwork training and liaise with partners
• Maintain constructive relationships with parents and professionals
• Work within policies and undertake other duties as required
