Job summary

BMSL Group Ltd in Ystalyfera, Swansea, with hybrid working, seeks a commercially minded Tendering Engineer to drive high-voltage infra bids. You will manage tendering end-to-end, analyse documents, shape pricing, and coordinate cross-disciplinary inputs to win major UK infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in Tendering, Estimating, Proposals, Bid Management or Pre-Construction activities.
• Experience in power, utilities, electrical infrastructure, renewable energy or related engineering sectors.
• Understanding of HV and LV electrical distribution systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Commercial awareness and experience developing project cost estimates or tender submissions.
• Strong stakeholder management and customer-facing skills.
• Excellent communication, organisational and time management abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

A growing specialist engineering and infrastructure contractor is seeking a Tendering Engineer to join its expanding commercial and business development team in South Wales.

Operating within the high-voltage power, utilities, renewable energy and energy transition sectors, the business delivers major substation, grid connection and electrical infrastructure projects across the UK. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of opportunities, they are looking to appoint a commercially aware Tendering Engineer who can help secure and develop future project opportunities.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing tendering activities from initial enquiry through to contract award, preparing accurate and commercially competitive proposals for high-voltage electrical infrastructure projects.

Working closely with Operations, Delivery, Procurement and Commercial teams, you will analyse tender documentation, identify risks and opportunities, develop pricing strategies and coordinate technical submissions to maximise tender success.

The role offers a varied mix of technical, commercial and client-facing responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys engineering, business development, customer engagement and project strategy.

Key Responsibilities

About You

To be considered, you should have:

-Experience within Tendering, Estimating, Proposals, Bid Management, Commercial Engineering or Pre-Construction activities

-DNO, IDNO or ICP environments

-Switchgear and transformer projects

-NEC or similar forms of contract

Qualifications such as a Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems or a related engineering discipline would be beneficial.
