Job summary

BMSL Group Ltd is seeking a commercially focused Tendering Engineer in Ystalyfera (Hybrid). You will manage tendering activities from enquiry to contract award, coordinating pricing, technical submissions and client interactions for HV power and infrastructure projects.

The role blends engineering and business development, offering opportunities to influence bids, optimise costs and contribute to major UK power and infrastructure initiatives. Hybrid working available.

Qualifications

• Experience managing tendering, estimating, proposals, bid management or pre-construction activities.
• Experience in power, utilities, electrical infrastructure or renewable energy sectors.
• Understanding of HV/LV electrical distribution systems and ability to interpret drawings and specs.
• Commercial awareness with ability to develop project cost estimates and tender submissions.
• Strong stakeholder management and client-facing skills.
• Proficient in MS Office; driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Review client tender documents, specifications and drawings.
• Identify project scope, risks and commercial opportunities.
• Prepare tender submissions, estimates and technical proposals.
• Develop cost plans, pricing strategies and BOMs.
• Coordinate inputs from electrical, civil and structural engineering teams.
• Work with delivery to develop accurate project costs.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Lead tender presentations and bid review meetings.
