Job summary

Zenit, a leading engineering firm in Manchester, is seeking a Tender Lead to take full ownership of tenders from enquiry through submission. You will be accountable for pricing accuracy, margin protection and strategic bids, coordinating across internal teams and with clients.

You will design schemes using CAD, develop technical submissions and cost estimates, interpret client specs, engage suppliers, manage risks and align commercial strategy with business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Leading HV and multi-utility tenders from enquiry to submission
• CAD-based scheme design
• Developing technical submissions and cost estimates for complex tenders

• Engaging with clients, suppliers and subcontractors to clarify queries
• Mitigating risks early to support cost control
• Collaborating with senior leadership on commercial strategy
• Leading internal tender settlement meetings

• Updating CRM (Monday.com) regularly

The role

In this role you will take full ownership of tenders from enquiry through to submission. You'll be accountable for pricing accuracy, margin protection and strategic bids.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Leading HV and multi utility tenders and concept design from initial enquiry to submission
• Designing schemes with the use of CAD
• Developing technical submissions and cost estimates for complex tenders
• Interpreting client specifications to produce accurate, compliant and competitive bid packages
• Engaging with clients, supplier and subcontractors to clarify technical queries
• Working to identify and mitigate risks early in the tender stage to support cost control
• Working with the senior leadership team to develop commercial strategy aligned to business objectives
• Leading internal tender settlement meetings
• Developing pricing models and cost plansDefining margin levels and benchmark costs across previous schemes
• Reviewing and approving designs
• Updating the company CRM (Monday) regularly
• Previous experience tendering utility projects
• Strong organisational and administrative skills
• The ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment
