Job summary

Contento Social Homes in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated Housing Support Officer to help tenants remain in safe, stable accommodation and engaged with local opportunities. You will work Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00, supporting tenancy sustainment and liaising with landlords on repairs.

Responsibilities include onboarding tenants, health and safety checks, rent guidance, utilities management and coordinating community activities. A driving licence and UK vehicle access are required.

Qualifications

• Strong written and spoken English, organisation and time management.
• Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Housing or social-care experience and NVQ Level 2 are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support tenants to sustain their tenancy and access leisure, education and training.
• Respond to accommodation enquiries and assist with tenant onboarding.
• Conduct health, safety and tenant-room checks and liaise with landlords about repairs.
• Help tenants understand tenancy conditions, rent liability and anti-social behaviour requirements.
• Manage utilities and negotiate improved rates where applicable.
• Organise tenant feedback and community events.
• Collaborate with colleagues and external agencies to meet tenant needs.
