Job description
Tenancy Management Officer (Temporary Accommodation)

Grade 6, £33,699 up to £38,220 per annum pro rata
37 hours per week, 12 month fixed term contract

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Housing Options Service and play a key role in managing temporary accommodation tenancies. We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused individual to provide tenancy management services with an emphasis on early intervention and prevention.

What you’ll be doing
  • Managing temporary accommodation tenancies, ensuring licence conditions are enforced.
  • Maximising rental income and occupancy levels, reducing void periods.
  • Monitoring rent accounts, pursuing arrears, and liaising with finance and housing benefit teams.
  • Leading on legal action for breaches of tenancy conditions, including preparing documentation and attending court.
  • Carrying out property inspections, occupancy checks and estate management tasks.
  • Working closely with internal teams and external agencies to resolve issues and support vulnerable tenants.
  • Ensuring properties meet health and safety standards and reporting repairs promptly.
What we’re looking for
  • Experience in housing management and tenancy enforcement.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage a caseload and work under pressure.
  • Commitment to customer care and safeguarding.
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential).

We operate a ‘hybrid working’ model with a mix of office based, home and remote working available when suitable. The contractual base will be office based with agreed flexibility to work from home or at remote working locations in the borough.
