Job summary

Kier Group plc. is seeking a Temporary Works Design Engineer to join our civil and geotechnical engineering teams across multiple UK locations. The role involves delivering temporary works designs, reviews, and buildsability checks while supporting tenders and projects from bid through delivery.

You will contribute to a diverse portfolio across sectors with a focus on safety, buildability, sustainability, and innovation, in a hybrid working arrangement with some home-based days.

Qualifications

• Practical grounding in civil, structural and/or geotechnical engineering principles.
• Knowledge of applicable design standards.
• Working towards Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer status (CEng or IEng) or equivalent experience.
• Strong organisational and communication skills for collaborative teams.

Responsibilities

• Producing and reviewing design outputs such as calculations, drawings, models and reports.
• Acting as Project Lead for simpler projects, managing scope, programme and budgets.
• Supporting tenders, preconstruction planning and technical problem solving.
