Job summary

Kier Group plc. is seeking a Temporary Works Design Engineer to join our civil, structural and geotechnical teams across the UK. The role involves producing and reviewing temporary works design outputs, leading smaller projects, and supporting tendering and preconstruction activities.

We value practical engineers progressing towards CEng or IEng status and strong collaboration and safety focus. We offer a 40-hour week, flexible working up to 1-2 days from home, and a starting salary of £40k per

Responsibilities

• Producing, checking and reviewing design outputs such as calculations, sketches, drawings, 3D models, reports and risk assessments.

• Developing processes and systems to improve efficiency and buildability.
• Providing technical support to overcome construction-stage and post-construction issues and defects.

Temporary Works Design Engineer We're looking for civil, structural and/orgeotechnical engineers to join our team in various locations around the UK. Locations: Birmingham / Bristol / Cambridge / Cardiff / Glasgow / Leeds / Liverpool / London / Manchester / Newcastle / Norwich / Plymouth agile working, with up to 1-2 days per week from home if desired Hours: 40 hours per week flexibility on hours available if desired Salary: Starting from £40k per annum Sector: Working across all sectors of the built environment Join us as a Temporary Works Design Engineerand become part of one of the UK's leaders in temporary works design and management and construction-related technical services. Practically-minded, with a strong grounding in civil, structural and/or geotechnical engineering principles and knowledge of applicable design standards? Working towards Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer status (CEng or IEng) or of equivalent experience? Do you Enjoy applying first principles thinking to real-world construction challenges, combining a keen eye for detail with sound engineering judgement, a focus on safety, buildability, sustainability and a flair for innovation and creative problem-solving? Have experience of temporary works design and/or management, or other practical construction experience? Have strong organisational and communication skills, and enjoy working as part of collaborative teams? Contributing to the delivery of a broad range of complex construction engineering services, including some or all of:
temporary works design and checking, reviewing permanent designs for compliance and buildability, supporting tenders and preconstruction planning, and providing technical support to overcome construction-stage and post-construction issues and defects.
