Job summary

Chefs Recruitment (UK) is seeking a temporary chef for an Outdoor Activity Centre in Coniston, Cumbria. The position runs Friday to Sunday, with 27 hours total and an hourly rate of £18.

Live-in accommodation is provided if needed, and meals will support groups up to 40–50 people. You will prepare and serve simple, hearty meals, manage lunch and dinner schedules, and ensure meals are ready on time while keeping the kitchen stocked and clean.

• Experience cooking for groups or in a catering environment.
• Able to organise meals for up to 50 people.
• Practical, reliable and comfortable working independently in a kitchen.

Duties Include

• Preparing and cooking lunch and dinner for guests
• Breakfast is self-service, but the kitchen should be prepared and stocked
• Plating and presenting food on a hot plate/servery for guests
• Cooking straightforward dishes (e.g. marinated chicken and similar meals)
• Ensuring food is ready on time for group meal schedules
• Basic kitchen organisation and cleanliness

Schedule & Groups

• Friday & Saturday: Catering for the same group (up to 40-50 people) for lunch and dinner
• Sunday:
  • Prepare packed lunches for the departing group
  • A new group arrives requiring lunch and dinner

Ideal Candidate
