Job summary

Cornwall-Staff-Agency-Ltd is seeking an experienced Sous Chef for a busy brewery-owned pub, bar and restaurant in Salcombe. The role offers live-in accommodation and a 40-50 hour week at 19.00 per hour, with a 6-8 week temporary contract during the peak summer season.

You will work alongside the Head Chef and Chef de Partie to deliver high-quality food, maintain standards, and support stock control and kitchen organisation in a fast-paced environment.

My client, an established and busy brewery-owned pub, bar and restaurant in Salcombe, South Devon, is looking for an experienced Sous Chef to start as soon as possible.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy kitchen operation and work alongside the Head Chef and Chef de Partie team in delivering a high-quality food offering during the peak summer season.

Position Details

Role: Sous Chef
Location: Salcombe, South Devon
Rate: £19.00 per hour
Hours: 40-50 hours per week
Duration: 6-8 week temporary assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen


• Supporting and supervising the Chef de Partie team


• Maintaining high food quality and presentation standards


• Assisting with stock control and kitchen organisation


• Ensuring Health & Safety and Food Hygiene standards are maintained


• Providing support during busy service periods
