Job summary

CMA Recruitment Group has partnered with a Havant-based business to recruit an experienced Payroll Assistant for a short-term temporary assignment. The role involves end-to-end weekly payroll for around 120 employees, using Sage Payroll, with data validation, RTI submissions, BACS processing and payslip production.

Office-based with free onsite parking, the assignment starts 21 September 2026 and runs for a short period, ideal for holiday cover in a supportive team.

Qualifications

• End-to-end payroll experience using Sage Payroll.
• Strong understanding of payroll legislation and processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively at all levels.
• Able to work independently and confidently manage the payroll process.

Responsibilities

• Processing weekly payroll for approximately 120 employees.
• Gathering information from clocking cards and validating payroll data.
• Calculating overtime payments and shift allowances.
• Completing RTI submissions and pension uploads.
• Processing payroll through BACS.
• Producing and issuing employee payslips.
• Responding to any payroll-related queries that arise during the payroll cycle.
