Job summary

The Park Hotel in Barnstaple is seeking Temporary Front of House Christmas staff for a fixed-term 6-week contract from 29 November 2026 to 9 January 2027. You will work across food and beverage, greeting guests, taking orders, serving meals and clearing tables, while upholding high service standards.

No previous experience is required as full training will be provided. A positive attitude, neat appearance, and flexibility are essential for this busy holiday period.

Responsibilities

• Prepare station for service with condiments, linen, and cutlery.
• Greet guests, issue menus, take and record orders when needed.

• Support other departments as needed and maintain good relationships.
• Comply with HASAWA, fire safety, and legal requirements.

What will I be doing?

As Front of House Staff at The Park Hotel you are responsible for working in all areas of food and beverage, delivering excellent customer service to all of our guests.

• Prepare station for service which includes stocking condiments and linen as well as changing and servicing the cutlery available.
• Welcome customers, issue menus and receive and record customers’ orders if necessary alongside other members of the team.
• Serve food and drinks in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Clear and relay tables as necessary.
• Participate in the cleaning of the Restaurant alongside the other Waiting Staff.
• Understand and comply with company policy on HASAWA, fire precautions, legal requirements, and perform any other tasks that may be required from time to time.
• Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships

Although previous experience would be beneficial, it is not essential as full training will be provided.
