Job summary

FPMR Ltd is seeking experienced temporary cleaners/caretakers to service multiple high-end residential sites in the Birmingham area. The role covers shifts to support permanent staff and is offered on an ad hoc basis.

Shifts run Monday to Friday, 7am to 3pm, with a pay rate of £12.75 per hour. Responsibilities include cleaning public and resident areas, light maintenance, and reporting any safety concerns to the Building Manager.

Qualifications

• Experience as cleaner or caretaker at residential sites.
• Ability to follow COSHH and Health & Safety guidelines.
• Reliability and punctuality in temporary/cover roles.

Responsibilities

• Clean public and residential areas including cinema room, gym, meeting room, post room and toilets.
• Carry out daily maintenance tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, window cleaning and waste disposal.
• Perform lifts and corridor cleaning, report damages or health & safety concerns to the Building Manager.
• Assist with general building maintenance and inventory of cleaning supplies.

Job description

We are looking for experienced, temporary cleaner/caretakers to work at a number of our high-end residential sites in the Birmingham area. The shifts would be cover for permanent site staff and are available on an ad hoc basis.

Days: Monday - Friday 7am - 3pm

Rate: £12.75ph

Responsibilities & Duties

Cleaning Responsibilities – Public and Residential Areas

• Cinema Room, Gym, Meeting Room, Post Room, Public Toilet Facilities
• Lift Lobbies, Lifts, Residential Corridors

Carry out the following tasks:

• Vacuum carpets and sweep/mop hard flooring
• Clean mirrors, pictures, glass, windows, doors, and entry panels
• Empty and replace waste bins
• Dust and wipe down furniture, ledges, skirting, paintwork, and balustrades
• Clean and disinfect sanitary fittings and fixtures in all public toilet facilities
• Clean lift interiors thoroughly (floors, buttons, ledges)
• Ensure entrance, hallway, and stairwell walls are clean and tidy
• Maintain cleanliness of communal areas at all times
• Ensure the gym area is clean and well maintained with regular checks on water supply, blue roll, and general servicing
• Report any defects, damage, or health & safety concerns to the Building Manager.

Caretaker Duties – Daily Operations and Building Maintenance

• Daily walk round of the development including visual fire door checks
• Weekly testing of Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting systems, with fault reporting
• Check and maintain bin store daily:
  • Sweep/clean the area
  • Return bins to bin stores on designated collection days, with help from day concierge team
• Inspect common areas for hazards or obstructions and take remedial action
• Ensure all communal doors, fire exits, plant rooms and bin stores are secure
• Light maintenance work as required, including:
  • Replacing light bulbs
  • Light plumbing (e.g. bleeding radiators)
  • Routine decorating/painting of communal areas
• Check operation of lifts and report faults
• Visual inspection of gutters, drains, and external areas
• Prepare and maintain inventory of tools, cleaning products, and consumables
• Keep Porters desk and site stores tidy and stocked
• Be alert to signs of vandalism, damage, or attempted break-ins and report accordingly

• Use only company-supplied cleaning materials in line with COSHH and Health & Safety guidelines
• Be courteous and professional at all times when dealing with residents, guests, and contractors
• Maintain a tidy and professional personal appearance while wearing company uniform and ID
