Job summary

Platform Property Care, part of Platform Housing Group, is seeking an Environmental Caretaker to remove bulk refuse and maintain clean, safe communal areas across Solihull and nearby sites. You will work in a team, drive between sites in a 3.5 tonne van, and log health and safety checks using an iPad.

The role is full-time, 40 hours weekly, with core hours 7:30–16:00, Monday to Friday, based from Birmingham Business Park Depot and covering local sites as required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-focused environment (e.g., cleaning/caretaking)
• Positive, proactive approach and ability to work in a team
• Keen eye for detail; commitment to high standards
• Good IT skills to log repairs and safety checks via an iPad
• Full current valid driving licence is essential for a mobile role
• A Basic DBS check is required

Responsibilities

• Remove bulk refuse from estates, blocks, schemes, and void properties.
• Deliver services to Solihull and surrounding areas from Birmingham depot.
• Travel between sites in a 3.5 tonne van and at recycling centres.
• Log repairs and health and safety checks through a portal using an iPad.
• Work 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 7:30–16:00; no weekend work.
• Be based in Solihull or nearby and hold a valid driving licence

Platform Property Care are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual to join us, on a permanent basis, as Environmental Caretakers to be responsible for the removal of bulk refuse from our estates, blocks, schemes and individual void properties in Solihull and surrounding area.

What would you be doing in this mobile role?

You will carry out a range of activities to ensure our properties and the surrounding areas remain clean, tidy, safe, secure and in good condition. You will need to enjoy working with people and be able to use your knowledge and experience to make a real difference to our communities and our customers, helping to make our communal properties great places to live.

As an Environmental Caretaker, you will ensure that the properties and surrounding area you deliver a service to remain clean, tidy, safe, secure and in good condition. Working in a team you will share driving responsibilities, in one of our 3.5 tonne caged vans, to and from our sites and recycling centres.

This is a mobile role, covering our sites in Solihull and the surrounding areas so you need to be based locally as you'll start and finish your working day at our Birmingham Business Park Depot. There would also be a need to travel to our different sites throughout the area as required so a driving licence is essential.

This is a full-time role working 40 hours a week Monday – Friday with core hours of 7.30- 16:00 and no weekend working.

• Ideally you will have experience of working in a customer-focused environment undertaking cleaning and caretaking duties
• A positive outlook with a flexible, proactive approach and the ability to work as part of a team
• You will need a keen eye for detail and be committed to achieving high standards
• Good IT skills as you will be using an iPad to access a portal to log all required repairs and completion of health and safety checks
• Full current valid Driving Licence essential as this is a mobile role
• This role also requires a Basic DBS check

You will also need to be based in Solihull, or close by.
