Job summary

The London Borough of Bromley is seeking a proactive Temporary Accommodation Visiting Officer to inspect and safeguard temporary accommodation, ensuring safety, compliance and value for money.

This field-based role combines property inspections, investigations and customer engagement, with hybrid working at Bromley Civic Centre (2 days a week in the office) and a permanent full-time contract.

Qualifications

• Understanding of housing legislation, temporary accommodation and fraud risk.
• Knowledge of HHSRS, EPC standards and common disrepair issues.
• Ability to advise residents to sustain accommodation and rent payments.
• Ability to interpret complex information and make sound decisions.
• Strong commitment to customer service and delivering positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and safeguard temporary accommodation to ensure safety and compliance.
• Investigate issues, engage with residents and prevent fraud.
• Work independently across a varied portfolio and resolve issues with judgement.
