Job summary

Eden Brown Synergy is seeking a temporary BTEC Chemistry Lecturer to join a successful sixth form college in Greater Manchester on a full-time basis from September until Christmas 2026.

The position offers £30-£40 per hour for 36 hours per week. QTS or a relevant FE teaching qualification is required, with experience teaching Chemistry in a BTEC or vocational setting. DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one is expected.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant further education teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Chemistry within a BTEC or vocational setting.
• Strong subject knowledge and excellent classroom practice.
• Good understanding of BTEC assessment and internal verification requirements.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and high-quality BTEC Chemistry lessons.
• Plan, prepare and assess work in line with the BTEC curriculum and assessment requirements.
• Support and inspire students to achieve their full academic potential.
• Maintain high standards of teaching, learning and classroom management.
• Work collaboratively with the Science department to support student success and progression.
