Job summary

Simply Education Ltd. is seeking a temporary, full-time Qualified Teacher of Chemistry for a reputable grammar school in Maidstone, Kent, starting 1 September. The role includes teaching Chemistry with some Biology, planning high-quality lessons, assessing progress, and providing feedback.

The position runs Monday to Friday during term time, 5 days a week, from 1 September to 23 October with potential extension. Salary ranges £39,000–£58,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Previous secondary Chemistry/Biology teaching experience essential.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) essential.
• Strong knowledge of the Science curriculum.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons.
• Willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS through Update Service if not already held.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured Chemistry (and some Biology) lessons.
• Create a positive, inclusive learning environment to motivate students.
• Adapt teaching to meet individual learners' needs.
• Assess and mark student work, providing constructive feedback.
• Monitor attainment and identify areas for development.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school expectations.
