Job summary

The Abbey is recruiting a Temporary Assistant Accountant to join their team in Stoke-on-Trent. The role is initially through to mid/end November and entails managing purchase and sales ledgers, posting cash and bank statements, and completing journal postings.

You will work in a small team with a proactive attitude, bring prior experience, and be comfortable in a freelance finance environment. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Qualifications

• Must have previous experience as an Assistant Accountant.
• Experience using accountancy software.
• AAT qualification preferable.
• Excel skills.
• Be able to work in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the purchase ledger and sales ledger.
• Posting cash.
• Posting bank statements.
• Journal postings.
• Ad-hoc duties to support the accounts.
