Telecoms Project Manager

Ainscough Crane Hire are looking for a Telecoms Project Manager to provide national support. This is a national role so there is flexibility as to where you would be based.

Our ideal candidate would demonstrate the following

Education/Knowledge/Experience

  • Proven record managing multiple ongoing projects.
  • Previous experience working with, and co-ordinating Engineers, Installers etc would be highly advantageous. Industries such as Utilities, Telecoms, Transport would be of interest.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Must be confident dealing with clients, both in person and via Teams/ phone.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and Customers.
  • Full UK driving license
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and practices within time-critical service environments.
  • Can work in pressure situations

Job Purpose/Objectives of a Telecoms Project Manager

Providing effective co-ordination, technical expertise, and project management for lifting on telecoms projects, ensuring efficient planning and safe execution of all operations.

Managing customer engagements, overseeing project planning, and optimising the utilisation of resources to maximise profitability while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and compliance with industry regulations

Key Responsibilities of a Telecoms Project Manager

  • Co-ordinate site visits to assess project requirements, convert leads into hire contracts, and ensure optimal lifting solutions.
  • Ensuring the team prepare and produce high-quality site surveys, job-specific method statements, technical drawings, and risk assessments to meet industry standards.
  • Oversee and manage the entire lifecycle of each project, from inception to completion, ensuring customer satisfaction and project efficiency.
  • Co-ordinate and organise planning, scheduling, and administration for the 5G and all Telecoms projects.
  • Manage client technical inquiries, deliver responses, and ensure clear and consistent communication.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including depots, heavy cranes and sub contractors to provide technical guidance on lifting equipment, transport logistics, and other relevant resources.
  • Track project progress, report on KPIs, and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the company's products and services.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimise workflow, enhance customer service, and maximise operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, particularly in high-risk environments, and promote safe working practices at all times.
  • Engage with customers and stakeholders to gather information for site visits, maintaining open lines of communication throughout each project.
  • Support in the procurement and coordination of subcontractors, specialist resources, and equipment as needed.
  • Ensure that management procedures, communications and performance / KPI reporting requirements are fulfilled, in line with daily / weekly / monthly business processes.
  • Develop and maintain a culture that is commercially orientated, actively engaged with change and customer focused.
  • Act as a Change Agent on behalf of the function, advocating, leading and supporting on business improvement initiatives.
  • Undertake other duties that management may reasonably request.
