Job summary

National Grid Electricity Distribution is seeking a Communications Engineer based in Lincoln, Grantham or Boston to install, commission and maintain Telecoms & SCADA Networks across the East Midlands. You’ll work with the Network Management Centre, Design and Commercial teams to ensure a reliable, secure solution.

The ideal candidate has experience in Telecoms engineering, strong communication, and the ability to prioritise a busy diary while delivering high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Qualified to BTEC or equivalent in Telecommunications or Electrical Engineering or demonstrable technical background.
• Experience with Telecoms & SCADA networks and high-voltage electricity networks is a plus.
• Willingness to undertake standby duties as part of rota and provide evidence of qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Install, operate and maintain Telecoms & SCADA Networks within the designated region.
• Witness acceptance tests with contractors when necessary.
• Manage your diary to meet objectives and project deadlines.
• Ensure continuity of service by coordinating with colleagues and customers.
• Work safely following approved procedures and techniques.
• Provide technical support to customers and liaise with colleagues to resolve issues.
