Job summary

Technology Powered Services (TPS) is seeking an electrical installer to upgrade and test AC/DC power systems for UK mobile site projects. You will work with rigging and transmission teams, survey sites, and ensure compliance with BS 7671.

Role requires NVQ3 electrical installation, 18th Edition, and City & Guilds 2391, plus a full UK driving licence and readiness to travel and stay away. Training and development are offered within a growing Cellular Infrastructure division.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 electrical installation or equivalent required.
• 18th Edition and City & Guilds 2391 inspection and testing experience.
• ECS/JIB Gold Card or equivalent required.
• Experience in commercial/industrial or telecoms electrical work and fault finding.
• Full UK driving licence with ability to travel and stay away.

Responsibilities

• Survey site power and feed back design issues before work starts.
• Upgrade power supply units, rectifiers, batteries and DC distribution.
• Install and modify AC supplies, distribution boards and protective devices.
• Install and test earthing and bonding.
• Inspect, test and certify work to BS 7671.
• Produce handover packs with certificates, test results and photographs.

Technology Powered Services (TPS) is a fast-growing, privately owned infrastructure and technology business. Debt-free and financially independent, we design, install and support complex connectivity and infrastructure projects for enterprise customers and channel partners nationwide.

This role sits in our Cellular Infrastructure division, which delivers the technology elements of UK mobile network programmes: rigging, antennas and radios, power and electrical, microwave transmission, small cells, commissioning and decommissioning. The division is new and growing, so you will help shape how it works as it scales.

The Role

You will upgrade and test the AC and DC power systems that keep UK mobile sites on air, working alongside our rigging and transmission teams. You will:

• Survey site power and feed back design issues before work starts
• Upgrade power supply units, rectifiers, batteries and DC distribution
• Install and modify AC supplies, distribution boards and protective devices
• Install and test earthing and bonding
• Inspect, test and certify your work to BS 7671
• Produce handover packs with certificates, test results and photographs

About You

• NVQ Level 3 electrical installation or equivalent

• A current ECS/JIB Gold Card or equivalent
• Experience of commercial, industrial or telecoms electrical work and fault finding
• A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel and stay away

Highly desirable: experience on mobile telecoms sites, telecoms DC power and battery systems, and RF awareness, rooftop and IPAF training (we can fund these).
