Job summary

SP Energy Networks in Glasgow is seeking a Telecoms Asset Strategy Engineer with hybrid working and occasional travel to meetings and sites. You will help shape asset management policies for the Operational Telecoms Network and support robust investment decisions.

You will work with the OT Telecoms Asset Strategy Manager to align with ISO 55000, cyber security and NIS requirements, building data models and business cases for future investments and improvements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Telecommunications or related field or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of operational telecoms networks and technologies (SDH/PDH, MPLS-TP, optical, IP/Ethernet, wireless).
• Understanding of asset management principles and ISO 55000.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain asset policies and strategies for the Operational Telecoms Network.
• Support creation of resilient telecoms services through inspection, maintenance and defect management.
• Develop asset data models and information systems to monitor policy compliance, performance and risk.
• Ensure telecoms asset strategies align with Cyber Security and NIS requirements.
• Contribute to investment decision processes and robust business cases.
