Job summary

SP Energy Networks, part of the Iberdrola Group, is seeking an asset management-focused telecoms professional in Glasgow with hybrid working. The role involves shaping asset policies for the Operational Telecoms Network and ensuring resilient communications across transmission and distribution networks.

You will collaborate with the OT Telecoms Asset Strategy Manager to develop investment strategies, monitor policy compliance, and align with Cyber Security and NIS requirements while supporting

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Telecommunications or a related technical discipline.
• Knowledge of operational telecoms networks and technologies (SDH/PDH, MPLS-TP, optical networks, IP, Ethernet and wireless/mobile communications).
• Understanding of asset management principles and frameworks, including ISO 55000.
• Awareness of regulatory and cyber security requirements, particularly NIS regulations.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining asset management policies and strategies for the Operational Telecoms Network.
• Supporting the creation of resilient communications services through effective inspection, maintenance and defect management practices.
• Developing asset data models and information systems to monitor policy compliance, performance and risk.
• Ensuring telecoms asset strategies align with Cyber Security and NIS regulatory requirements.
• Contributing to asset risk, health and performance methodologies that inform future investment decisions.
• Supporting the development of robust business cases and investment need submissions.
• Building strong working relationships with operational teams to track and support delivery of transmission and distribution business plans.
• Analysing telecoms faults and failures, identifying trends, lessons learned and opportunities for improvement.
• Monitoring emerging technologies and industry developments to support innovation and future network capability.
• Contributing to strategic investment plans and regulatory price review submissions.
