Job summary

London Borough of Hackney is seeking a Telecare Officer to develop and lead the TeleCare service within Adult Social Care, focusing on enabling safe home-based living through assistive technology and OT-led assessments.

You will design training for staff, supervise the Telecare Co-ordinator, and drive improvements in assessment quality and discharge coordination, working in a fast-paced council environment in London.

Qualifications

• UK state-registered OT degree and an Enhanced DBS check.
• Significant experience delivering OT assessments for disabled people and running TeleCare services.
• Ability to plan and deliver training, run facilitated sessions and small group events.
• Expert knowledge of TeleCare aims, assistive technology, disability model and The Care Act 2014.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work independently and manage priorities.
• Working knowledge of IT tools including databases, word processing and email systems.

Responsibilities

• Developing the TeleCare service: design and deliver staff training and ensure practitioners understand assistive tech.
• Improve assessment quality by reviewing requisitions and providing clinical guidance.
• Support safe hospital discharge by coordinating TeleCare equipment installation.
• Monitor service performance and report progress to senior managers.
• Provide supervision to the Telecare Co-ordinator.
