Job summary

Roundhouse Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Tekla CAD Technician (Structural Steel) in Cookstown, Northern Ireland. Salary £30,000-£40,000 DOE, plus company benefits and 32 days' holiday. You will use Tekla Structures to produce detailed fabrication and GA drawings, collaborating with engineers and project teams to deliver bespoke solutions.

The role offers ongoing professional development and clear progression into senior technical, design or project management positions as the business grows.

Qualifications

• Experience using Tekla Structures for structural steel detailing.
• Ability to read structural and fabrication drawings.
• Understanding of construction detailing and steelwork.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple drawing packages.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or other CAD software is advantageous.
• Keen to progress within a growing engineering and construction business.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed fabrication drawings and GA drawings using Tekla Structures.
• Interpret structural drawings, specifications and construction design information.
• Prepare accurate details for bespoke masonry support systems and related products.
• Liaise with structural engineers, project managers and customers to resolve queries.
• Review drawings for discrepancies or potential installation issues before manufacture.
• Update and revise drawings throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain drawing records and revision information.
• Collaborate with the wider technical team to meet project requirements and deadlines.

The Role - Tekla Detailer

• Produce detailed fabrication drawings and general arrangement (GA) drawings using Tekla Structures.

• Interpret structural engineering drawings, technical specifications and construction design information.

• Prepare accurate technical details for bespoke masonry support systems and associated construction products.

• Liaise with structural engineers, project managers and customers to resolve technical queries.

• Review drawings and identify discrepancies or potential installation issues before manufacture.

• Update and revise technical drawings throughout the project lifecycle.

• Maintain accurate drawing records, document control and revision information.

• Work collaboratively with the wider technical team to ensure drawings meet project requirements and deadlines.

The Person - Tekla Detailer

• Previous experience using Tekla Structures for structural steel or construction detailing.

• Ability to read and interpret structural engineering and fabrication drawings.

• Understanding of construction detailing, fabrication or structural steelwork.

• Good attention to detail and ability to manage multiple drawing packages.

• Familiarity with AutoCAD or other CAD software would be advantageous.

• Keen to develop technically and progress within a growing engineering and construction business.

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 4:30pm

Friday: 8:30am - 2:00pm

37 hours per week.
