Job summary

Cambridge Enterprise seeks a Commercialisation Associate to support case progression across a portfolio of technologies, collaborating with Case Leads and CE lawyers. You will conduct due diligence, evaluate opportunities, manage patent-related processes, and help develop translational funding and industry partnerships.

The role requires a degree in a scientific or technical subject, strong organisational and communication skills, and an interest in technology transfer and IP.

Qualifications

• Degree in a scientific or technical subject is required.
• Strong interest in technology transfer and IP.
• Excellent organisation and time management with ability to multi-task.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills across seniority levels.
• Ability to think analytically and assess commercial aspects.
• Understanding of commercial issues related to academia.

Responsibilities

• Case Support using a full life cycle approach for evaluation and commercialisation of technologies.
• Perform IP due diligence and identify stakeholders and obligations.
• Evaluate new opportunities and market potential for IP.
• Liaise with inventors, patent agents, and business support to manage patent processes.
• Maintain clear communications and records for audit, reporting and case reports.
• Assist in securing translational funding and industry partnerships.
• Develop and support commercial relationships with potential partners.
• Draft and negotiate straightforward legal agreements with guidance as needed.
• Ensure continuity of cases when Case Leads are absent.
• Contribute to marketing and promotion of university technology and CE services.
