Cambridge Enterprise, West Cambridge, is seeking a Commercialisation Associate (Research Tools) to help turn university innovations into licensed tools and revenue. You will drive licensing and consultancy efforts for a leading software-based medical research tool, liaising with academics and industry partners to maximise impact.

This role covers a diverse portfolio across physical and life sciences, software and other outputs, demanding strong relationship-building, due diligence, and strategic

Qualifications

• Strong commercial awareness and an interest in helping research outputs reach wider audiences through licensing and consultancy.
• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, accurate and professional documents and agreements.
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to build relationships with academics, external organisations and colleagues across a range of functions.
• The ability to negotiate effectively, balancing commercial objectives with risk management and organisational policies.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• A proactive, motivated and enthusiastic approach, with a strong sense of accountability and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Lead on the commercialisation and business development for the largest software based medical research tool within the portfolio.
• Develop licensing and consultancy strategies to maximise impact and reach.
