Job summary

Northern Education Trust's Hetton Academy is seeking a part-time Technology Technician to support pupils and teaching staff in the Technology department. You will organise and maintain the workshop, prepare equipment for practical lessons, and ensure all gear is cleaned and stored securely after activities.

We are looking for candidates with good organisation and interpersonal skills who can work well with both children and adults.

Qualifications

• Assist in providing a safe and efficient technical service for pupils and teaching staff.
• Support, develop and further extend the work of the Technology department.
• Organise and maintain the workshop and prepare equipment for lessons.

Responsibilities

• Maintain workshop and store equipment securely after lessons.
• Assist in practical demonstrations as directed by the Head of Department.
• Support teaching and learning activities in the Technology department on a day-to-day basis.

Post: Technology Technician Part time

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary Range: Grade 4, SCP 10-12, (FTE salary £28,608.00 - £29,542.00) pro rata salary £12,637.58 - £13,050.18

Salary amounts quoted are from the 1 September to 31 August and therefore if you commence employment part way through the academic year they are subject to an equated salary adjustment

Working Type: Part Time 18.5 hours, 39 working weeks, 45.942 paid weeks

Northern Education Trust, hetton Academy is seeking to appoint a Technology Technician. The successful candidate will assist in providing a safe and efficient technical service for pupils and teaching staff, and work closely with teaching staff to support, develop and further extend the work of the department and the experiences of the pupils. You will support the teaching and learning in the Technology department on a day-to-day basis as directed by the Head of Department. The role of the Technology Technician involves organising and maintaining the workshop, preparing equipment ready for practical demonstration lessons and at the end of each lesson you will ensure that all equipment is cleaned down and stored away securely. We are seeking candidates with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with both children and adults.
