The Vale Academy in Brigg is seeking a part-time Design Technology Technician to join the Technology department. You will support teaching and learning by ensuring equipment and resources are prepared and in good working order for daily lessons.

Hours are 22.5 per week (term-time only, 38 weeks) on a permanent basis. This role offers the chance to contribute to a high-achieving academy serving a rural community.

The Vale Academy are looking to appoint a Design Technology Technician to join our academy in October 2026 on a permanent, part time basis.

Your new role

As the Technician for the Technology department, you will work closely with the Head of Department to support teaching and learning by ensuring equipment and resources are prepared and in good working order to facilitate effective lessons on a daily basis.

The Vale is a successful and high achieving 11 to 18 academy which has an excellent reputation and an established trend of high student outcomes, which are consistently above those achieved nationally. Indeed, 2025 outcomes placed the academy first in the local authority with attainment at 4+ and 5+ in both English and Maths at 77% and 65% respectively and an attainment score of 51.6.

The academy is situated in Brigg, North Lincolnshire and serves a largely rural community. Brigg itself is a historic market town on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds. Many of our students travel a considerable distance to school.
