Job summary

AECOM is seeking enthusiastic apprentices to join its Technology Services team in the UK. You will support diverse projects across transport tech, from ITS and public transport technology to connected and autonomous vehicles and EV charging infrastructure.

You will work with engineers and consultants, gaining practical experience across the project lifecycle and progressing toward a recognised professional qualification while benefiting from formal training and mentoring.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (Maths and English at grade C/4 or above) and three A-Levels (or equivalent)
• Interest in technology, engineering, transportation or ITS and desire to build a career in the industry
• Aptitude for technical subjects and problem solving
• Willingness to learn and develop CAD, digital engineering, telecommunications or data analysis skills
• Basic proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of engineering drawings, plans and technical documentation
• Support development and delivery of ITS and technology projects
• Assist with feasibility studies, site investigations and surveys
• Help prepare design information, calculations and technical reports
• Collect, analyse and interpret technical transport data
• Support planning, design and implementation of technology systems and infrastructure
• Engage with public transport systems, telecoms, control centres and back-office systems
• Gain exposure to technologies such as connected and autonomous vehicles and Mobility as a Service
• Contribute to sustainable projects including EV charging infrastructure
• Participate in site visits and meetings with clients and stakeholders
• Collaborate with engineers, consultants and designers across multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain project records and assist with general administration
• Develop understanding of engineering standards and best practices
