Job summary

Border to Coast Pensions Partnership is seeking a Technology Risk Officer to oversee risk across the IT estate, ensuring information security, resilience and outsourcing controls meet FCA and ISO27001 expectations. You will coordinate audits, report risk to committees and manage third/outsourced providers.

You will work with senior technology leaders to strengthen risk governance, drive due diligence, and maintain control effectiveness in a complex financial services environment in Leeds.

Qualifications

• Technology risk across IT infrastructure, including information security, cloud and resilience.
• Regulatory and audit expectations (FCA, ISO27001) with evidence of compliance.
• Understand the three lines of defence model and operate across first and second line.
• Experience in technology risk, ICT governance, audit or assurance in complex environments.
• Track record of assessing technology controls and tracking remediation to closure.
• Familiarity with internal and external audit, producing evidence for assurance activity.
• Experience producing risk reporting and management information for committees.
• Analytical, methodical approach to control design and gaps.
• Stakeholder management across IT, risk, compliance, audit and senior management.
• Clear writing for risk documentation and audit responses.
• Strong planning and integrity under conflicting priorities.
• Degree or equivalent with ongoing ICT/risk development.

Responsibilities

• Provide first line technology risk oversight across IT infrastructure.
• Bridge to second line risk, compliance and assurance and report on technology risks.
• Evidence adherence to information security, operational resilience and outsourcing requirements.
• Coordinate internal and external audits from design evidence to remediation tracking.
• Assess and report on technology and infrastructure risk including third party, cloud and resilience.
• Produce risk reporting and management information for management and audit committees.
• Keep ICT risk and compliance oversight effective with outsourced partners.
• Support senior technology leadership in meeting risk, cyber and assurance standards.
• Oversee third and fourth parties to ensure robust controls.
• Monitor cyber and information security controls to protect data assets.
• Watch the changing cyber threat landscape and challenge the operating model.
• Contribute to ISO27001 accreditation and ICT strategy security standards.
• Drive cyber due diligence across key service providers for contracted security levels.
• Support operational resilience activities involving technology risk and outsourcing oversight.
• Identify and escalate risk across your area.
