Job summary

Menzies LLP is seeking a Technology Risk Audit Trainee to join our Audit & Assurance team in London. The role begins in January 2027 and offers a structured career development plan within a diverse and inclusive firm.

As a trainee, you’ll develop expertise in IT auditing, governance, risk management and information security while contributing to risk-based reviews and process improvements. A strong academic background and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2:2 undergraduate degree across any discipline.
• Minimum of 2 A levels (A-C) plus one other A level or equivalent.
• 5 GCSEs grades A*-C or 9-4 including Maths and English.

Responsibilities

• Carry out risk-based IT environment reviews to assess security, data integrity and resilience.
• Identify potential IT risks and provide assurance that controls are effective.
• Suggest improvements to IT processes and governance to mitigate technology risks.
• Support automation and use of technology in risk management and controls.

CISA Qualification

The Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) qualification is awarded by ISACA, a globally recognised professional association specialising in IT governance, risk management, information security and technology controls.

As part of the qualification, you’ll develop knowledge across IT auditing, governance, risk management, information security and technology controls . It will help you build the skills to assess systems and processes, identify potential risks and provide assurance that technology is being managed effectively and securely.

Please note this role is due to start in January 2027.

What does our Technology Risk team do?

Our Technology Risk team carries out detailed, risk based reviews of a company’s IT environment to determine whether these are managed securely, that data integrity is maintained and that resilience is in place.

We look to challenge the IT organisation of a company and help to improve the internal IT processes as well as providing feedback on how key technology-based risks can be mitigated. This is an increasingly critical role as companies seek to automate more of their business processes, the increase in cyber attacks and the rapid utilisation of technologies such as AI

• Minimum of 2 x A levels (A-C) and one other A level or equivalent
• 5 GCSEs grades A*-C or 9-4 (including Maths and English Language or equivalent)
• Ability to absorb new information and adapt quickly
• Comfortable working with numbers and demonstrating strong attention to detail
• Clear and thoughtful written and verbal communication skills
• Able to explain financial information in an accessible and supportive manner
