Role Overview

We are looking for someone with a logical passionate mindset to join our ever growing exciting business.

In this role you will act as an escalation point for the Service Desk on Infrastructure related incidents and perform day to day administration of all Infrastructure related systems

What you’ll be doing

• Day to day server administration tasks
• Responding to critical incidents and standard service requests
• Completing technical project work on systems such as server and storage hardware, Active Directory, VMWare vSphere, Windows Server, Veeam, Microsoft Azure, GCP and Microsoft 365.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with the business users and IT teams
• Perform routine maintenance tasks on IT systems such as applying patches and configuration changes
• Undertake day to day Windows Server, Active Directory and VMWare vSphere administration tasks
• Carry out cloud-based admin tasks and troubleshooting in GCP, Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure
• Take technical responsibility for small projects as allocated by line manager
• Assist with completing technical tasks on larger projects that require the provision or changes to the IT Infrastructure
• Update technical documentation to enable the IT Service Desk to resolve a higher percentage of incidents without the need for escalation

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Problem solving skills within an IT environment
• Pro-active person who looks for ways to improve systems to increase performance and reduce support incidents
• Share your ideas and highlights areas we could improve

Skills

• An in-depth knowledge of Active Directory, including Group Policy
• Experience of administrating a Windows Server estate (2012 R2+)
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365
• Experience of administrating VMWare vSphere (7.0+)
• A good understanding of networking concepts including DNS and DHCP
• Experience of supporting server and storage hardware, preferably HPE
• Strong analytical skills to quickly and accurately respond to re-active problems ensuring that the most appropriate course of action is taken
• Experience of working in an ITIL environment, understanding how the end to end processes work across the organisation
