Job summary

Orkney Islands Council is recruiting an itinerant Teacher of Technologies to deliver Woodwork and other practical subjects across Sanday, Stronsay and Westray Junior High Schools. The post travels between islands by plane, with the Council paying travel.

Salary includes a Distant Islands Allowance and is based on the SNCT Main Grade Scale. The successful candidate will plan and deliver high-quality lessons, assess progress, promote creativity and digital skills, and work with families and

Qualifications

• Must have Woodwork and any other practical subject experience to National Level within Technologies.
• Regulated role requiring Level 2 PVG scheme membership.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality learning across the technologies curriculum.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across Sanday, Stronsay and Westray Junior High Schools.
• Assess and track learner progress and contribute to attainment.
• Collaborate with colleagues, families, partners and the wider community to widen opportunities.
