Job summary

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar in Scotland invites applications for a Primary Teacher (English Medium) at Sgoil Uibhist a Tuath. The post is 35 hours per week, fixed term to August 2027, with a salary of £46,380–£57,450 per annum, inclusive of £2,997 Distant Islands Allowance.

The successful candidate will contribute to school effectiveness across curricular, care and welfare, collegial development and professional learning, with duties spanning teaching, curriculum development, assessment, and pupil

Qualifications

• An appropriate degree/diploma and GTC Scotland Registration.
• PVG scheme membership is required for this regulated role.
• Interviews will be conducted in person.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned classes with preparation and correction.
• Develop the school curriculum.
• Assess, record and report on pupil work.
• Prepare pupils for examinations and assist with examinations.
• Provide advice and guidance to pupils on education matters.
• Promote and safeguard pupils' health, welfare and safety.
• Work in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals.
• Undertake continuing professional development.
• Participate in school planning, raise achievement and reviews.
• Contribute to good order and wider school needs.
