What you'll do

We are looking to recruit a workshop technician to support our Electrical Installation team based at our Highfields campus. Key duties include:-

  • Setting up practical training environments that involves regular lifting, moving and maintenance checks of machinery
  • Work proactively and take initiative with limited supervision
  • Record keeping
  • Understand risk assessments and COSSH requirements would be an advantage, however training will be provided

Who we're looking for

The ideal candidate will have experience within a workshop or practical setting, ideally with a background in Engineering or Construction with knowledge and ability to adapt to difficult situations.

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Willingness to operate under pressure
  • Support students undertaking practical activity
  • Ordering of stock and maintenance of tools and equipment
  • Ensure health and safety compliance
