Job summary

University College Birmingham is seeking a Technician to join the College of Food in Birmingham. This permanent role is 37 hours per week over 39 weeks and leads a team of Catering Support Workers to ensure smooth operation of teaching and practical spaces.

The successful candidate will maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation, supervise day-to-day activities, and support learning environments for students and staff across shifts.

The Role

We are looking for a highly organised and motivated Technician to join our busy University/College environment. This is a hands-on supervisory role responsible for leading and supporting a large team of Catering Support Workers to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of teaching and practical learning spaces.

Working across alternating day and evening shifts, you will play a key role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and operational readiness, helping to create an excellent learning environment for students and staff.

We are seeking someone who has previous experience of supervising a team, takes pride in maintaining high standards, and can organise day-to-day activities effectively in a fast-paced practical learning environment.
